Stevensville Main Street Association is dedicated to the preservation and revitalization of Stevensville. Our community is a wealth of knowledgeable, talented people that makes Stevensville a wonderful place to live and do business. The Main Street Association is providing the following sample of organizations and service groups to remind you and your family of the areas available to contribute volunteer time and talent needed to make the great community we live in. 


Stevensville Main Street Association - The Main Street Association facilitates the projects, preservation and revitalization of our town.  The Four Points approach of Organization, Promotion, Design and Economic Restructuring provides stability to build and maintain the long-term effort of revitalization, creates excitement downtown, enhances the look of our town and strengthens our current business economy. Any of the four committees could use your expertise.  It takes teamwork to sponsor the events and projects of our community.  Call Joan Prather at 777-3773.

Stevensville Civic Club - A volunteer organization that promotes the involvement of citizens of all ages in projects and activities, which enhance the quality of life in our community. Current programs include the Creamery Picnic, the 4th of July Pig-nic, Parade of Lights, and the maintenance of the Lewis and Clark Park . In conjunction with the school, a new program for students to letter in Civics is now under development. Call Tim Schreiber 777-7210

Senior Citizen Center - Offering a myriad of social programs and services for area seniors. Programs include Bingo, monthly birthday parties and the Meals on Wheels program. The Meals on Wheels program is especially need of volunteers for packaging meals and most important meal delivery. Betty Lowell 777-5707

Stevensville Museum- Preserving our local heritage, the museum is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Volunteer opportunities include 2 ½ hour shifts at the museum to give out information, grounds keeping, and light cleaning. Help is also needed to organize the annual fundraising events: Used Art and Jewelry Sale in April, Yard Sale in June and Wine Tasting in August. Stevensville Foundation- A non-profit corporation, the Foundation provides grants for community projects and programs, examples are the North Valley Library, the Senior Center and the Steve nsville Museum . The largest project in the works is acquiring the land for and the subsequent building of the Steve nsville Community Center . The annual Festival of Trees is the major fundraiser for the Foundation. It takes over 150 volunteers to coordinate the event. Call Cheryl Baldwin at 777-5654

S.A.S.S. – STEVENSVILLE ART AND SCULPTURE SOCIETY – Share your love of the arts, develop your artistic talent and encourage others to do the same.  Call Tina Schwartzman 777-2562

North Valley Public Library- Having a community library is essential! Help preserve our library by donating carpentry skills for bookshelves and building refurbishment.  Shelving, cataloging, and reading hours are other opportunities, as well as helping with the annual Book Sale in February. Historic St. Mary’s Mission- A valuable aspect of our local heritage, the Mission could use volunteers April-October for grounds keeping, building maintenance and as tour guides. Hosts for the Visitor Center and Gift Shop are needed year round.  The annual Western Days is their main fundraising event to which you could contribute your time and talent. Chantilly Theater- Our local theater produces a myriad of shows year round. The Chantilly could always use your creative talent to help paint, design and build the props and sets, create costumes, engineer sound and light, and oh yeah, can you act?  Call Dan or Jan Depauw at 777-2722

Genesis House- A transitional home for women with mental illness, teaching them the life skills necessary to regain independence. Volunteer opportunities include driving the women to Riverview House in Missoula for job training, one on one mentoring and companionship. Donations of household items and clothing are always welcome. Donna Thompson at 777-3751

Stevensville School Volunteers- Recognizing the value of multi-generational relationships, Stevensville Family Resource center mixes adults with children in programs including reading, tutoring, and field trips. Steve nsville Volunteer Fire Department- Help keep us safe, volunteer firefighters are always needed! Special training is provided. Call Bob Summers 777-3270

Pantry Partners- A basic need in life is nourishment, help the less fortunate in our community not only by donating non-perishable food items but also by donating your time to help organize, catalog and distribute the goods. Call Kathy Belke 777-0351

Garden Club-Help keep our community beautiful!  Along with other beautification projects, the Garden club takes responsibility for the oak barrels that line our Main Street . Do you have a green thumb? Would you like to exercise your green thumb? Call JoAnne Gibbons 961-5642

Stevensville Booster Club- The Booster club exists to support and enhance the extra-curricular activities of the students in our community. Activities include the Christmas Bazaar, sale of school spirit clothing, and the 50/50 raffle at home games. Money is also donated to local non-profits. Call Duane Baney at 777-0059

American Legion –Worlds largest Veterans Organization.  Dedicated to serving our Veterans, Servicemen and their families and Americanism Programs. Youth programs include:  Bitterroot Bucs Baseball, Boy Scouts, National Oratorical Program and many other activities in the Stevensville, Florence and Victor areas. Call Russ Vogel 777-4427

Clothes Closet – 316 ½ Main St .  Free Clothes – Infant to Adult   Volunteers are needed so we can extend our days and hours.  Currently open Wed. & Sat. 1 to 4PM . Call Sara Schardt 529-0015.
